What to eat when nothing sounds good
You're hungry. You scroll. Every option gets a "meh." This happens to everyone, and it's usually fixable in a few minutes.
Why nothing sounds good
- You're tired, not picky. At the end of a long day, every option feels like effort, including choosing.
- You're not quite hungry yet. Food is hard to get excited about at a 3 out of 10 hunger level.
- Your rotation is stale. If you've eaten the same five dinners all month, all five will sound boring.
- Too many choices. A delivery app with hundreds of restaurants is harder to choose from than a fridge with three things in it.
Pick by texture, not by cuisine
"Do you want Thai or Italian?" is a hard question when nothing sounds good. "Do you want something crunchy or something soft?" is an easy one. Start with the texture or temperature you're craving, then pick a dinner from that group.

Eat something small first
When you can't decide, have a few bites of something easy, like a piece of toast, a handful of crackers, or some fruit, and wait ten minutes. Often your appetite shows up and a real answer comes with it. Sometimes you realize the snack was enough.
Shrink the menu to three. Open the fridge or your favorite app, pick the first three options you'd tolerate, and choose one. Don't add a fourth.
When it's more than one bad night
If nothing has sounded good for days at a time, or you've lost your appetite and don't know why, it's worth mentioning to a doctor. For the regular "I'm hungry but nothing sounds good" kind of night, the tricks above are usually enough.
Let a random pick break the stalemate
When you truly can't choose, randomness helps. Legend of the Lost Dinner deals you one dinner idea at a time. Swipe left to skip and right to lock it in. Seeing one option at a time is a lot easier than staring at a hundred.
